StoryMaps is a great tool for creating unique stories that reflects you and your experiences. These stories can transport your audience to another place and help deepen connections with your community; check out the Explore page for some great examples! Sharing your stories on social media platforms increases your visibility and influence while strengthening the relationships with your audience. Built-in social sharing tools make it easy to share to your StoryMaps content with friends and followers on any channel or share your content as a link.
Join me as I walk through the steps sharing StoryMaps stories on social media!
There are two places where you can find the share button in a StoryMaps story – in the header and near the end of the story.
The story’s share button includes quick links to three social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Of course, you can always copy the link and paste it anywhere you would like to share the story.
Sharing your story on Facebook
- Open the story and click the Share button.
- Click Facebook.
- The Facebook sign in page opens in a new browser tab, enter your Facebook credentials. (This step is skipped if you are already signed in to a Facebook account.)
- On the Post to Facebook page, review the story preview card and compose your post by adding text, selecting sharing level, and so on.
- Click the Post to Facebook button and you are all set!
Sharing your story on Twitter
- Open the story and click the Share button.
- Click Twitter.
- The Twitter sign in page opens in a new browser tab, enter your Twitter credentials. (This step is skipped if you are already signed in to a Twitter account.)
- Review story preview card and compose your tweet by adding text, adding any media, and selecting who can reply.
- Click the Tweet button and you are all set!
Sharing your story on LinkedIn
- Open the story and click the Share icon.
- Click LinkedIn.
- The LinkedIn sign in page opens in a new browser tab, enter your LinkedIn credentials. (This step is skipped if you are already logged in to a LinkedIn account.)
- Select either Share in a post or Send as private message.
- If you select Share in post
- Review the story preview card and create a post by adding text, adding any media, and selecting who can comment and see your post.
- Once you are ready, click the Post button and you are all set!
- If you select Send as private message
- Add recipients and write a message
- Once you are ready, click the Send button and you are all set!
